Celebrate with us

For 18 months we have worked on revisiting, collecting, and capturing our lockdown memories and moments.

This is where we celebrate all of that goodness.

employable skills

Thanks to great experts, we have learned and explored multiple digital skills including oral storytelling, digital scrapbooking, and filmmaking to retell our experiences.

These will undoubtedly help us in our bright futures.

We hope you enjoy listening to and supporting our stories.

LISTEN TO our oral histories

During our time throughout this project, we have worked closely with the Race Relations Team, part of the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Centre based at Manchester Central Library. The aim of working with the team was to help the young people understand the importance of oral storytelling, archiving, and to have their lockdown stories archived.

The team have been wonderfully supportive of our project and have held two training sessions for our young people.

The original oral history interviews will be donated to the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah RACE Centre where they become an archive collection and be preserved for the future.

Public access to the oral history interviews will be closed for 5 years in line with the ethical collecting processes undertaken by the archive.

Soon, the collection description and any material not subject to closures will be searchable through the online catalogue and made available for access.  The oral histories will be open to public access and research once the closure period has been lifted. You will be able to access the archives via this link: https://www.racearchive.org.uk/collections/

THE DELIGHTS OF CAPTURING OUR STORIES AND MEMORIES IN DIGITAL SCRAPBOOK FORM

Here you will find a snapshot of some of our digital scrapbooking pages. The majority of us decided to create a visual representation of our lockdown moments. We then had the opportunity to have out books printed with a proper book cover sleeve and our name on the front cover!
